About 14 million foreigners live in Germany, of which approximately 230,000 have to leave the country, according to the latest data from the Aliens Registration Center (AZR). Germany is one of the primary destinations of many Bosnians and Herzegovinans, and now it has been announced how many of them live there.
What is interesting is that the Turks were by and large the most numerous foreigners in Germany, but now that could change. 1.52 million Turks and 1.4 million Ukrainians were registered. The reason for such a large increase of Ukrainians in Germany is the war.
The AZR report shows that more than 14 million foreigners currently live in Germany. Their share in the total population (about 83.6 million) therefore amounts to approximately 16.8 percent, writes GermanFocus.
However, as this media points out, the number of people with a migrant background is much higher. This includes not only foreigners, but also, for example, children of foreigners who were born in Germany and acquired German citizenship at birth.
Of the 14 million foreigners, about 230,000 have to leave the country. However, 190,360 of them received a temporary residence permit. Almost 40,000 live here without such a permit and in fact should leave Germany immediately.
How many citizens are there from BiH and ex-yu countries?
According to AZR data, 246,724 BiH citizens live in Germany and are 16th on the list of foreigners in that country.
In front of BiH are Croatia (9th place), Kosovo (11th place) and Serbia (14th place). North Macedonia is in 22nd place in terms of the number of citizens living in Germany, it says N1 BiH.
