The ankle injury is under control, and the expert team will make a decision in the next two days whether Muzafferia will compete in the pre-final races in Val di Fassa this weekend.
We remind you that during the first official downhill training in Solde, on February 26, Muzaferia had an accident near the end of the first sector when she hit the gate at high speed, during a small landing, then the track and the guardrail, and due to the injury, she missed the competition in the downhill discipline and two Super-G races.
“Examinations in Andorra showed that there are no fractures in the lower part of the leg. I did my best and with the support of the physiotherapist from the team and Dr. Semin Bećirbegović and the Orthos polyclinic staff, I managed to get back on my skis from the crutches. Yesterday I did conditioning training, and this morning a few ski rides in Bjelašnica. I feel good and I’m glad that this season is not over for me yet,” says Muzaferija, who will be the fastest to join the female skiers of the world tomorrow in Italy, and the first official downhill training, according to current estimates, will start on Thursday.
Val di Fassa is the penultimate stop of the FIS World Cup in the 2025/2026 season in women’s speed events, and the 25 first-place finishers travel to Lillehammer, where the Audi FIS World Cup final races will be held from March 19 to 25.
