Association for the promotion of cycling “HerzegovinaBike” is organizing the 14th Cycling Caravan of Friendship Mostar – Vukovar, which will connect the south of Herzegovina with the City of Hero on a 500-kilometer road from April 28 to May 2.
The caravan is held under the high patronage of the President of the Federation of BiH, Lidija Bradarewhich provides institutional and human support to this initiative. The participants will start on Tuesday, April 28 at 9:00 a.m. in front of the Croatian Home of Herceg Stjepan Kosača in Mostar.
A route of 500 kilometers
During the five-day trip, cyclists will pass through the heart of Bosnia and Posavina. The plan includes households in Kiseljak, Žepč and Županja, and the road ends in Vukovar.
The highlight of the caravan will be May 2, when the participants will be in Vukovar and Borovo Selo to honor the victims of the Homeland War and participate in the commemoration for 12 dead Croatian policemen.
President of the HerzegovinaBike association, Toni Zoricexpressed his satisfaction with the continuity of the project. He believes that every year brings new energy and confirms the correctness of the path they started more than a decade ago.
I am especially pleased that the president of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lidija Bradara, is with us again as a high patron. Her support gives us an additional boost and confirms that what we do has deep social significance. Our route connects Kiseljak, Žepče and Županja, cities and friends who welcome us every yearand that’s what makes this caravan specialsaid Toni Zoric.
Security and support of institutions
The safety of road users is the priority of the organizers. Coordination with the ministries of interior affairs of all counties through which the caravan passes is underway, and professional police escort will ensure smooth movement on dangerous sections.
Along with the Office of the President of the Federation of BiH, the project was supported by the City of Mostar, the City of Županja, the City of Vukovar, the municipalities of Kiseljak and Žepče, and numerous economic entities.
The organizers invite citizens of Mostar and friends of sports to come to Kosača on Tuesday, April 28 at 9:00 a.m. and see off the cyclists on their way to Vukovar.
