The Minister of Economy of Zenica-Doboj Canton, Simir Sickenjić, received the Director of the American Trade Chamber in BiH, Nedima Mujezinović, and Representatives of the U.S. General BH Fair – Elvira Ajanović and Sanel Ibrić.
The possibilities of cooperation was discussed in order to strengthen the links between the members of the US Trade Chamber of BiH and companies from the Zenica-Doboj Canton, as well as their participation in this year’s ZEPS fair. Director Hamzić announced that I would present Amcham BiH through his communication channels to Zeps American and domestic companies, with the aim of encouraging their participation in this significant economic event.
During the meeting, Minister Šibonjic presented the economic potential of Zenica-Doboj Canton, emphasizing that it was one of the most active industrial regions in this part of Europe.
– I would especially highlight very favorable investment opportunities in our canton. We are the leaders in many branches of the economy, especially in the food, metal processing, wood industry, energy production and mining. In the area of modern and sustainable mining, an excellent example is the highest post-war investment of the International Company of Adriatic Metals in Vareš – a ruddy metal mine, which has launched a new and significant investment cycle, both in our entire Bosnia and Herzegovina. ZEPS Fair is the right place to meet domestic and international companies, as well as opportunities for new cooperation and projects. In that sense, the American trade chamber of BiH is a significant partner – said Minister Šibonjić.
It was emphasized to invest great efforts to zeps, as the most important economic event in Bosnia and Herzegovina, has become recognizable and out of the borders of the country. In this context, the contribution of the U.S. trade chamber was rated as extremely important.
– We have recognized and support the efforts aimed at re-positioning ZEPS as the leading regional business fair and the platform for connecting economic entities, promoting investments and the exchange of ideas. We believe that such events play a key role in strengthening the domestic economy and opening new business opportunities, both domestic and international market. Amcham BiH will remain dedicated to cooperation with partners who contribute to the development of the business environment in BiH, and we recognize the ZEPS Fair as an important segment of that process. We look forward to the active participation of our members and we believe that this year’s release of the fair will adopt additional value to all participants – the director of Hamzić said.
– Having the support of the world’s largest trade chambers is a great advantage, but also an obligation. It is especially important to us that ZEPS recognized both domestic and international partners. We are looking forward to cooperation with the US Trade Chamber and we will try to justify the trust pointed out – said Elvir Ajanovic, the owner of the License of the General BH Fair ZEPS.

The American Trade Chamber is one of the most influential in the world, and its branch in BiH is extremely active. The American Chamber of Commerce in Bosnia and Herzegovina (Amcham BiH) is an independent, non-profit organization that represents the interests of 170 American, international and domestic companies. Through the advocacy of the reforms aimed at the development of the private sector, the promotion of investment and strengthening bilateral relations between the United States and BiH, AmCham BiH is actively working on the development of the country’s business climate.
ZEPS has grown over the years over the years – became an important platform for business meetings, exchange experiences and concluding concrete cooperation. Only last year, more than a thousand B2B encounters were organized, and about 300 business contracts were concluded. This year, an even larger number of meetings and agreements are expected.
General BH Fair ZEPS 2025 will be held from 10. to 13. September at Kamberović Polje in Zenica. A record number of visitors and participants is expected. ZEPS today is not just a platform for the promotion and exposure of the product, but also an opportunity for real business results.
