Meloni praised Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenia due to his rationality in the analysis of the situation, especially after a tense meeting in the Oval Office.
Also, it pointed out that the main goal is to find a long-term solution that would enable peace in Ukraine, without dividing the Western Allies.
The Prime Minister added that a specific plan for the distribution of military troops has not yet been defined, although the UK and French proposed certain ideas that will be the subject of further discussion. She confirmed that Italy does not currently plan to send their troops in Ukraine.
She emphasized that the focus on finding diplomatic solutions that do not necessarily involve Ukraine in NATO, and expressed a skepticide idea of the European nuclear umbrella, warning that this could lead to the US withdrawal from international engagement.
