Lithuania will spend 1.1 billion euros to strengthen their boundaries with Russia and Belarus, especially antitank mines, the Ministry of Defense of that country on the Eastern wing of NATO, said.
Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, which borders everything with Russia, fear that they will become the following targets Russia if it receives a war against Ukraine.
These three Baltic states, the former Soviet republics, strengthened their defense after the Russian army performed invasion of Ukraine. These countries have strengthened security measures at their borders after the influx of migrants for which Russia is responsible.
The new financial package of measures will be distributed for 10 years and will enable Lithuania to “block and slow down the shares of enemy countries,” the Defense Ministry stated.
