Two weeks after falling in the Olympic downhill, American skier Lindsey Vonn revealed that only the quick intervention of American doctor Tom Hackett saved her from having her leg amputated.
Vonn posted a video explaining that the fall caused a dangerous increase in pressure in closed muscle spaces that restricts blood flow and damages muscles and nerves, leading to permanent damage or loss of a limb.
