Koke: We had chances to take the lead, but they found the goal

Atletico Madrid captain Koke addressed the media after the defeat.

– We are very hurt, very disappointed, but I am proud of my team and our people. We did our best. We could have scored goals, but the ball just didn’t want to go in, just like in the first game. Football is a matter of realization, and they were more specific than us.

– At the Metropolitan, as well as here, we had opportunities to take the lead and then equalize. They found the goal and were more effective – added Koke.

– I won’t talk about the referee, because he did his best. He knows how he judged. He must have tried his best, there is nothing more to say – said the disappointed captain.

– I have nothing to complain about, the team was going for the win, but it was simply not meant to be – commented Koke.

– It was a very exciting season in the Cup and Champions League. In La Liga, we weren’t consistent, we weren’t at the level we should have been and we lost points in games we shouldn’t have. This team is making great progress and I am sure that in the very near future they will fight for everything, and we will talk about my future when the time comes – concluded Koke.
