The government has already 11. April in this program transferred 40 illegal migrants to Albania, and several of them were later deported from these facilities.

Despite the support of the Government, the initiative provoked criticism of opposition parties and civil society organizations, which accuse the Government for the spread of public money.

The legal obstacle has also slowed the implementation of the plan, as the Italian courts ordered the return of three separate groups of migrants sent to Albania at the end of 2024. And early 2025. Years.

On the same day, the Law on Migrants is voted in the lower Dom, the legislators have also approved amendments to Italian citizenship regulations.
