Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said today that Iran is willing to suspend the attacks on Israel if Tel Aviv interrupts an offensive to Tehran.
Speaking in front of foreign ambassadors in Tehran, Araghchi emphasized that the war Iran was imposed and that Tehran had no choice except to answer.
“Our defense is completely legitimate and will be carried out determined, exclusively in response to aggression. If the attacks stop, Iranian retaliation will stop,” he said.
Tensions between Iran and Israel escalated abruptly after the coordinated Israeli air attacks at several locations in Tehran on Friday, including military and nuclear facilities, which prompted Iran to return attacks a few hours later.
Iran launched another wave of surgery called “True Promise III”, focused primarily on economic and industrial goals in the Israeli port city of Haifa. In parallel, the Israeli strokes hit the Iranian Ministry of Defense and Oil Warehouse in Tehran.
Iran reported that 78 people were killed on the first day of Israel, while dozens, including children, killed on the second day.
This wave of violence led to an interruption of indirect nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States, who were conducted with Omani mediation. The sixth round of negotiations should be held on Sunday in Muscat.
Araghchi said that Israeli “aggression” would not be possible without the coordination and support of the United States, pointing out that as a key reason for the termination of negotiations.
He said Iran owns solid and convincing evidence that the US forces and military bases in the region supported Israeli attacks.
The Minister also called on the statements of the current US President Donald Trump, who said the attacks “could not happen without American equipment” and announced the “next phase”, stating it as additional evidence of American involvement.
