Inflation in Bosnia and Herzegovina has slowed down 3.2 percent on an annual basis after it was 3.5 percent in February, data are BiH statistical agencies.
On the monthly basis, in March 2025. in relation to the previous month, consumer prices have not changed on average.
In March 2025. Compared to February, the price increased by food and non-alcoholic beverages for 0.6%, health and shoes for 1.5%, health and culture by 0.2%, restaurants and restaurants and hotels in 0.4%.
On an annual basis, the largest average price growth was recorded in food and non-alcoholic beverages for 7.8%, alcoholic beverages and tobacco by 3.9%, housing and £ 6.3%, restaurants and hotels for 5.8% and other goods and services for 2.8%, writing an indicator.
In the first three months of 2025. compared to the first three months of 2024. Inflation was 3.4 percent.
The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina estimated the annual basis inflation for the first three months in the services sector to 4.21 percent, while the annual growth of the average consumer prices in this sector is designed to 4.73 percent. From the bank, the strengthening of the base and inflation in the services sector is not yet noticed, despite the strong growth of total consumer prices.
“In other words, the total inflation has strengthened in the first three months due to the base effect, and the growth of food prices, 7.1 percent per year, for the first quarter”, clarify from the Central Bank.
The Bank state that the growth effect of food prices was so strong that neutralized the annual decline in energy prices that are not included in the composition of base inflation, in the first quarter, writes Radio Sarajevo.
