India will allocate $40 billion to strengthen its military forces, including the purchase of more French-made Rafal fighter jets, as well as more Boeing P-8I reconnaissance aircraft, the country’s Ministry of Defense announced.

In April, India signed a contract for 26 single and two-seater Rafal-Marin aircraft to be deployed on its aircraft carriers “INS Vikrant” and “INS Vikramaditya”, reports Tanjug.
The Ministry of Defense also signed a contract for the purchase of eight Dornia 228 aircraft for the Coast Guard.
French President Emmanuel Macron will visit India next week.
