The Tax Administration of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced that in the period January – December 2025, taxpayers paid a record 8,771,286,144 KM in public revenues, which is 10.34 percent more than in the same period in 2024.
The Tax Administration of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina informed the public that the collection of public revenues in 2025 had a pronounced growth trend, with a record amount of payments achieved at the level of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In the period January – December 2025, taxpayers paid a total of 8,771,286,144 KM in public revenue, which represents an increase of 821,652,900 KM compared to the same period in 2024, i.e. a growth of 10.34 percent.
In the structure of collection by cantons, the largest share in the total collection was achieved by Canton Sarajevo with 3,251,164,560 KM, which is 37.07 percent of the total public revenues of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Tuzla Canton follows with KM 1,502,171,275 and a participation of 17.13 percent, and Zenica-Doboj Canton with KM 1,118,581,914 or 12.75 percent of the total collection. Herzegovina-Neretva Canton achieved KM 976,905,828 (11.14 percent of participation), and Central Bosnia Canton 665,686,646 KM (7.59 percent).
The Una-Sana Canton received 527,373,729 KM in public revenues, the Western Herzegovina Canton 369,382,062 KM, Canton 10 a total of 168,851,800 KM, the Bosnian-Podrinje Canton 99,970,030 KM and the Posavina Canton 91,198,301 KM.
All cantons recorded an increase in collection compared to the period January – December 2024, with movement indices from 108.69 to 114.10.
Observed by types of income, income from direct taxes in 2025 amounted to 1,791,841,223 KM, which is 207,172,772 KM or 13.07 percent more than the previous year.
Income from income tax and arrears from income tax amounted to 687,283,712 KM, while income from income tax and arrears from personal tax amounted to 943,567,263 KM, with a growth of 22.59 percent.
Income from property, inheritance and gift tax reached 51,311,555 KM, and from tax on real estate and rights 109,247,741 KM.
Contributions were collected in the period January – December 2025 in the total amount of 6,087,691,450 KM, which is an increase of 579,652,406 KM compared to 2024. Contributions for PIO amounted to 3,358,605,745 KM, contributions for health insurance 2,432,587,642 KM, while contributions for unemployment insurance amounted to 296,498,063 KM. Total revenues from direct taxes and contributions together amounted to 7,879,532,674 KM, with a growth index of 111.09.
In addition, fees and charges in 2025 amounted to 782,125,057 KM, membership fees 19,648,129 KM, fines 81,858,476 KM, while other public revenues amounted to 6,344,112 KM. The total collected public revenues in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2025, including all mentioned types of revenues, reached the amount of 8,771,286,144 KM.
On 31.12.2025. 134,788 active business entities with included business units and branches were registered in the Federation of BiH, while on 31.12.2024. 131,711 active subjects were registered. In the same period, increased inspection supervision was recorded: in the period January – December 2025, 5,921 inspections were carried out, which is 1,843 controls more than in the same period in 2024.
Through controls, 297 cases of work without authorization were recorded, 1,175 unregistered workers were discovered, and in 263 cases, an uninstalled fiscal device was found. Non-recording of traffic was recorded in 1,659 inspections, while the number of sealed facilities was 585. Misdemeanor orders were issued in 2,480 inspections, and the total amount of issued misdemeanor orders in 2025 reached KM 6,755,195.
According to the official records of the Tax Administration of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the number of employees according to the place of residence of the employees as of December 31, 2025. was 545,409. Of these, 176,664 workers or 32.39 percent were employed up to the age of 35, while 368,745 workers or 67.61 percent were over 36 years old. Of the total number of employees, 302,625 or 55.49 percent were men, while 242,784 or 44.51 percent were employed women.
The data also shows the structure of employment by narrower age groups, with 10,066 persons employed up to 20 years of age, 38,787 between 21 and 25 years of age, 66,571 between 26 and 30 years of age, 61,240 between 31 and 35 years of age, 36 to 45 years of age 155,541, and 46 to 55 years of age. 132,830, from 56 to 65 years 76,346, and 4,028 employees over 66 years of age, which makes a total of 545,409 employees.
In the part that refers to the recording of transactions through fiscal devices, the Tax Administration of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina states that as of December 31, 2025. a total of 110,286 fiscal devices were installed in the territory of the Federation. Through them, in December 2025, total turnover was recorded in the amount of 7,127,838,877.88 KM. Compared to 31.12.2024. year, the number of fiscal devices increased by 4,623, while the recorded turnover in December 2025 was higher by 503,974,563.10 KM compared to December 2024.
In the period January – December 2025, a total turnover of 75,451,871,066.47 KM was recorded through fiscal devices, which represents an increase of 5,548,061,370.34 KM or 7.94 percent compared to the same period in 2024, when the total turnover was 69,903,809,696.13 KM. The municipality with the largest number of fiscal devices on 31.12.2025. year is the Municipality of Centar Sarajevo, with 7,239 devices installed.
In December 2025, the municipality with the highest total turnover through fiscal devices was the Municipality of Ilidža, in whose area turnover was recorded in the amount of 581,183,568.93 KM. The Tax Administration of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina called on all taxpayers to do business legally, to record each individual turnover through a fiscal device and issue an invoice to the customer. It is noted that by issuing invoices, taxpayers will avoid the imposition of sanctions and measures, such as the temporary closure of facilities and the payment of high fines.
