In the Swiss St. Moritz is counting down the hours and minutes until the start of the new season of the Audi FIS World Cup in speed disciplines for women.
The first downhill race on the program is tomorrow, December 12, starting at 10:15 a.m., while the weekend brings another downhill and the first Super-G of the season.
Among the fastest female skiers in the world is the best Bosnian-Herzegovinian alpine skier Elvedina Muzaferija, who completed two official downhill training sessions yesterday and today and is ready to welcome the starting position in St. Moritz.
“I am very much looking forward to the start of the competition season. We used both official training sessions to get to know the track, the gates, the snow and the changes in relation to the weather. There were many oscillations that we are currently analyzing so that I would be 100 percent ready for the performances,” says Muzaferia, a member of the “ZE-2010” Ski Club, the only BiH. competitor in the FIS World Cup and the only BiH. female skier with the achieved A norm for the Milan–Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, which will be held from February 6 to 22.
The competition season for female alpine skiers in the downhill and Super-G disciplines, with a dense competition schedule, lasts until the end of March 2026, when the final races will be held in Lillehammer from the 19th to the 25th, in which 25 female skiers will place in the technical and fast disciplines.
Every race is an opportunity to win new points and pave the way to the finish line, and in St. More than 70 contestants will be looking for their chance at Moritz from December 12 to 14.
