In the FBiH budget for this year, transfers to cantons were kept at 200 million KM, while 48 million KM will be allocated to support cities and municipalities. An additional two million marks have been reserved for the assistance of 13 underdeveloped local communities in FBiH.

ZDK Prime Minister Nezir Pivić says that support from the FBiH budget is very necessary and significant, especially for less developed cantons, and that the cantons have an obligation to direct a fifth of the funds to the implementation of demographic policy and measures. 31.8 million KM belongs to ZDK in this distribution and these funds, together with additional funds from public revenues of the FBiH, will be used to improve the overall situation in this canton.
– Unfortunately, allocations from the FBiH budget for lower levels of government do not follow the growth of the FBiH budget. Almost 200 million KM was distributed in 2020, when the FBiH budget was 5.5 billion KM, and the same amount is planned for this year, when revenues of 8.9 billion KM are expected. Support to the cantons could certainly be significantly more generous. I’m not optimistic that we will get this 31.8 million KM on time, because we haven’t been paid the funds for last year either – said Pivić for “Avaz”.
The Prime Minister of BPK Goražde, Senad Čeljo, says that there were proposals to reduce or abolish transfers to cantons, so he is encouraged by the fact that the FBiH Government planned 200 million KM. 4.15 million KM has been set aside for BPK from the total amount over the past few years, which Čeljo appreciates as a very significant financial support.
– In the past year, funds were paid to us practically on the last day, which helped us to have a successful year, for which we are grateful to the Federal Ministry of Finance. However, in our budget for 2026, many times more support funds from higher levels are planned. We will behave responsibly and realize expenditures at the level of realized revenues, thus we will try to maintain the budget balance – adds Čeljo.
Government of USK
USK Prime Minister Mustafa Ružnić told “Avaz” that funds from the FBiH budget represent an excellent financial injection, with a clear direction of that money.
– USK received 23.9 million KM every year. Likewise in 2025, with an emphasis on demographic development. This will strengthen all the planned measures of the USK Government, especially with the Ministry of Health for measures of demographic development, the Ministry of Construction with support for young people and young married couples, or the Ministry of Education with measures for pupils and students – adds Ružnić.
