Grbavica south tribune will be finished by the end of the year, the sewage problem has been solved

Mayor of Novo Sarajevo Municipality Benjamina Karić, Minister of Culture and Sports of Sarajevo Canton Kenan Magoda, director of FK Željezničar, Haris Slato and director of the Institute for Construction of Sarajevo Canton, Belma Barlov addressed those present.

“We have completed the bureaucratic part, we have signed an additional million marks, FK Željezničar will also provide chairs,” Minister Magoda said at the beginning and continued:

“Like every project, this one doesn’t go according to plan. It’s not about the money, it’s not about the works, it’s about the field itself. No politician wants pressure, and when you start this boldly, then pressure comes. The grandstand will be finished, but we won’t stop there.”

“All those who wish there won’t be a stand, then there will be. The workers are there, we have the best people from supervision, the best workers and it’s a very high-quality project. I want to send a message to the fans to be patient, it’s not easy to get into a project like this. If it was easy, many people would have invested earlier. In the past, crumbs were invested, and today millions. Zeljo will have the best southern stand, Maniacs a complete atmosphere, slowly but surely Grbavica stadium will soon become a UEFA category stadium.”

The head of the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo, Benjamina Karić, also spoke.

“There is a small team here. There was a need to allocate new finances, on average up to 10% more than the law allows. That amount is about one million marks, we signed an annex to the agreement, the minister provided the funds. The tribune project is no longer 4.7 million marks, but now exceeds 5.5 million marks,” said Karić and continued:

“Most importantly in the end, this is also thanks to Ms. Belma Barlov because without her team it wouldn’t have happened. You can’t do a project like this without a team of good people. We’re happy with the dynamics right now.”

“We came across a sewage network under the south stand and we have to redo the whole project. Everything we said is not an excuse.”

“The deadline was supposed to be the end of May, but the tribune will be completed by the end of the year, these additional works need several months. The work is hard and dedicated and everything is in accordance with the law. Do not be angry at the extension of the deadline, we could not influence that.”

Director of the Institute for Construction of Sarajevo Canton, Belma Barlov, also spoke.

“In front of the institute that supervises the works, we can say that the project has a complex structure. Professionals know what it is about. The project was built by the architect Mladen Gvozden, these are constructions that require work. This is a system that requires complete attention,” said Barlov and added:

“We had problems, this is a building on a slope. We ran into unforeseen works. Some permits require a certain amount of time to complete the administrative part. We expected until the end of May, but simply a complex project. We ask for your patience until this is finished and this will be the most stable stand.”

At the end, the director of FC Željezničar, Haris Slato, spoke.

“We are satisfied with the dynamics of the works. The reason for the delay is the sewage system. I am glad that we will be late if we finish this key part. Let’s say that when autumn comes we will not have problems, we will not be afraid of flooding in the parking lot in Plavi Salono,” said Slato and added:

“We are not building a weekend house, but a stand for the most ardent fans. The field is demanding and difficult. If we didn’t do this sewage, our stand would be a septic tank, but now we are finishing this the right way. Whoever criticizes these people, criticizes the friends of our club. When it is finalized, the stadium will have a capacity of 21,000 spectators with a new western stand, because we also have that in the plan to reconstruct the stand. We want the Champions League in Grbavica, we want European matches. We will gain a new reputation Grbavice,” said director Slato.
