Gattuso has been out of work since leaving the Azzurri bench, a move he made in April, after losing to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the World Cup play-off final.
The 48-year-old has not been involved in Serie A since leaving Napoli in 2021.
Since then, he has had experience with Valencia in the Spanish La Liga, Marseille in the French Ligue 1, Hajduk in the Croatian Football League, and recently with the Italian national team.
According to Tuttosport, Torino are interested in the idea of appointing Gattuso as coach for the 2026/2027 season.
If Torino go the Gattuso route, Tuttosport reports that he is likely to be offered a three-year deal.
The former Italy international is a figure reportedly favored by club president Urbano Cairo, as is sporting director Gianluca Petrachi, with reports on Thursday claiming that this is not the first time Gattuso has been wanted in Turin.
Tuttosport claims that they considered the possibility of appointing Gattuso before and after Ivan Jurić at the head of the club. Jurić’s return to Turin cannot be ruled out either. The Croatian has been out of work since leaving Atalanta earlier this season.
There is also a possibility, albeit less likely, that Torino will decide to stick with current coach Roberto D’Aversa, who has a short-term contract that expires at the end of June, reports Football Italia.
