Janko Petrović, Deputy Prime Minister of the Association of Employers of the Republika Srpska, who is also the owner of the company “Petroprojekt” from Bratunac, told the independent newspaper that the price of pellets is on the rise.
“In the past year, the price of pellets in our country was from 320 to 340 km + VAT, in the last 15 days of the pellet for 360 km + VAT,” says Petrović.
He points out that the price of pellets in the coming period tends to grow because there is not enough production.
“Rooms up 20 percent, the price of electricity is higher by 15 percent, the labor force is collected between 10 and 20 percent, so it all affected the price of pellets,” says Petrović.
He points out that this year the price of pellets is high because the winter extended.
“They are empty warehouses and with us, but also markets in Europe, so it is high demand and then it automatically affects the prices,” Petrović points out.
He says that domestic producers are allowed to export Serbia, where it was forbidden for a year to export.
“The border is now open and can be exported smoothly, and the price of pellets in Serbia is from 250 to 280 euros per ton”, says Petrović and emphasizes that they have no stock.
Darko Partalo, director of the company “Drvoprodex” Banja Luka, said that due to the cold winter, pellet consumption was greater than a year earlier.
“On the other hand, due to the price of heating, this year was the production of pellets smaller,” Partalo said and pointed out that for years in April they have a 20 mark discount.
“The price of pellets with transport and VAT of 1,050 kg is 440 km,” Partalo said that they expected to be higher for about 20 marks per ton.
That the price of this energy affect increased consumption, says Igor Andrić, Secretary of the Association of Forestry and Limestops in the Republic Chamber of Republika Srpska, which points out that in the last couple of years, is one of the “more serious” and cold.
“Production costs increased in terms of increasing electricity price, labor prices, so producers are forced to raise the price,” Andrić said.
He added that everything we be closer to the heating season this year, can be expected that the price of pellets will be higher.
Goran Ivanović, a representative of the manufacturer of pellets in BiH, points out that pellet prices depend on the class of pellet quality.
“The A2 class can be found below 400 marks, while the A1 class reaches the price for a ton and up to 450 marks,” Ivanović said.
As he said, the prices of pellets depend on the growth cost growth, as well as the price of electricity, which is increasing from this year.
“This winter, which was quite cold, helped Peletari, who could not relieve their lagers for a long time. Also that the domestic market was started,” now the problem creates the prices of wood assortments, but also electricity.
“There was a growth of pellet prices precisely because of all this, but it is not too drastic,” Ivanovic concluded.
