The Municipality of Doboj South decided to establish the Economic Council of the Municipality of Doboj South, a permanent advisory body to the Mayor, with the aim of improving local economic development and strengthening cooperation between the public and private sectors.
The Economic Council is established based on the Statute of the Municipality of Doboj Jug, and in accordance with the principles of good management, the requirements of the Certification Program of Cities and Municipalities with a Favorable Business Environment in Southeast Europe (BFC SEE), and the need to establish a structured and continuous public-private dialogue.
Strengthening partnership and a more favorable business environment
The purpose of establishing the Council is to strengthen the partnership between local self-government, the private and non-governmental sector, with a focus on strategic planning of the economic and economic development of the Municipality of Doboj Jug, as well as the continuous improvement of business conditions for business entities.
Among the key objectives of the Economic Council are the improvement of business and investment conditions, the identification of obstacles faced by businessmen, the provision of recommendations for the improvement of local policies and regulations, and support for employment and sustainable economic development of the municipality.
Advisory role and specific responsibilities
The Economic Council will provide advisory support to the Municipal Mayor in the creation of policies, programs and projects that encourage economic development. Also, the Council will monitor issues of importance for the economy, propose measures to improve the business environment, point out needs and obstacles in business, and participate in the drafting of strategic and development documents.
His responsibilities include participation in the preparation, implementation and monitoring of projects in the field of local economic development, consideration of the effects of municipal decisions and regulations on the economy, as well as cooperation with the municipal expert for local economic development.
Broad composition of the Council
The Economic Council will consist of representatives of the Municipal Administration, economic entities, public companies and institutions, as well as non-governmental organizations and associations from the area of Doboj Jug Municipality. The members of the Council will be appointed by the Municipal Mayor in a special decision, based on the conducted expression of interest procedure.
