Federal Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry Kemal Hrnjic together with the representatives of the ProBio BiH project, handed over packages of mobile phones to the officials of the cantonal ministries responsible for the field of agriculture.
As reported from Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestrythe devices will be used in field work, especially in the area of plant production, with the aim of improving control and records of production activities.
Mobile phones, the total value of which is 25,000 KM, are primarily intended for photographing plots with geolocation marking. In this way, a more accurate and efficient determination of the actual situation on the ground will be made possible, as well as a better control of the reported areas.
Minister Hrnjić thanked the representatives of the ProBio BiH project Suzana Madžarićemphasizing the importance of investing in modern technologies that strengthen institutions’ capacities and improve transparency in the agricultural sector.
– By introducing modern technological solutions, we additionally strengthen the system of control and monitoring of agricultural production. Such projects contribute to more efficient work in the field, but also to greater trust in the process of awarding incentives – emphasized Hrnjić.
Representatives of the cantonal ministries pointed out the importance of the consistent application of the regulations related to the recording of parcels and geo-location marking, stressing that this practice has already contributed to the reduction of irregularities in surface declarations.
The “ProBio BiH” project, which refers to the promotion of local biodiversity through innovative approaches in the agricultural and food sector, is financed by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs through Italian Agency for Development and Cooperation (AICS)and implements CIHEAM Bari.
The relevant ministry says that it will continue activities aimed at modernizing the sector and strengthening institutional capacities, with the support of international partners.
