“As we announced, we came to play football and win. I think we showed that in the first half, we were a more concrete, dominant opponent and it’s a shame that we didn’t take advantage of certain situations we had both in front of the goal and around the penalty area, some because of the pitch, some because of a wrong pass. In the second half, we lost that thread from the first half, we weren’t concrete, decisive.
It’s a tough game, it’s a derby, today it ended 0:0, I know the fans don’t like that kind of result, but what’s there is. Thanks also to the fans who came to this game in large numbers, the support was heard. I think the players did their best, followed what we asked. It’s a shame about the first half, said Mario Cvitanović, adding:
I didn’t feel that we had any problems or situations that should be more specific. We were coming up, we had situations with Kyeremeh and Hujber, the only thing we lacked was concreteness and a faster connection between the midfielders and the defensive line to get in front of the penalty area like in the first half. I think the players were at the level and there is no reason to put someone in a negative context,” he said.
Then Milošević got the floor.
“I can be satisfied, the boys did their best, we tried to focus on what we were doing. We knew that we were playing against a team that is phenomenal, that has individual quality, maybe the best in the league. That’s probably why we were more reserved in the first half, we didn’t get up well, but we matched defensively. We were a little more brave in the second half, and it’s a shame that we failed to take three points again, from various opponents, but considering everything, I think we can be satisfied, said Savo Milošević, who has no objections to the play of football players, especially the younger ones.
– Tactically, everyone tried, everyone who started and everyone who entered. In the second half we had three 18-year-old kids, even they had no problems. That is a big plus, they showed that they can, I hope we will be able to use them more in the next games. We played against a serious team, we managed to match them and threaten several times in the second half”, he concluded.
With this draw, both teams kept the same positions as before. Sarajevo remained third with 43 points, while Željezničar was sixth with 30.
In the next round, the burgundy team welcomes Zrinjski in the round derby, while the Blues will visit Radnik in Bijeljina.
