The billionaire stressed that he had only had dinners with Epstein and had never visited the island or met any of the women Epstein mentioned in his documents. “The more information comes out, the clearer it will be that that time had nothing to do with that kind of behavior,” Gates added.
The latest set of documents contains allegations against several celebrities, including Gates, for meeting with Epstein in connection with philanthropic projects. One of the emails Epstein sent to himself in 2013 mentions Gates’ decision to cut off contact with Epstein, and it allegedly claims Gates asked for advice on how to discreetly administer an antibiotic to his then-wife Melinda Gates.
Melinda Gates, who divorced Bill in 2021, said earlier that those mentioned in the documents, including her ex-husband, have some explaining to do. “I feel deep compassion for the victims of Epstein and I’m glad we’re far away from all that filth. No little girl should ever be put in the situation they were in,” Melinda said on the Wild Card podcast.
Melinda added that it is difficult for her personally to witness these details because they remind her of painful moments in her marriage and the childhood of their daughters. “It’s more than heartbreaking. I remember those years, I remember my daughters – it’s very difficult for me every time these details come out,” she concluded.
