The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of Turkey has donated an antidron system of Kangal to the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The handover ceremony was held in the Kazari Os BiH Rajlovac in Sarajevo, with the presence of the highest officials of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of BiH, the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey, NATO Staff of Sarajevo and EUFOR.
Turkey’s Ambassador to BiH Emin Akski said Turkey and BiH have deep cultural and historical and historical relations, and BiH security and stability are one of Turkey’s key priorities in the Balkans.
– From the proclamation of its independence, Turkey has always been with BiH. In a wide range of our cooperation, close military relations between our armed forces occupy an important place. In order to increase the capacity of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the support to the Process of Membership in NATO, I would like to point out that it is great satisfaction to support us in the training of military personnel, maintenance, repair of vehicles and equipment, as well as modernization activities. Our contribution to the EUFER Althea mission, which is the European Union’s peacekeeping forces and who conducts joint activities with NATO, is evidence of important military support we provide BiH, the Ambassador of Aksets.
He reminded that between Turkey and BiH in the field of military cooperation since 1995. a total of 47 agreements and protocols were signed, 28 of which are currently in force.
– I want to point out that with our membership in the Peace Implementation Council and EUFOR ALTH mission, the peace and stability of both Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region. I also want to emphasize that we will continue to provide strong support to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina, he added.
Defense Minister BiH Zukan Helez said Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as many other countries in the world, faces modern forms of threats to defensive-security challenges, which continuously adopt the accelerated development of technology, and especially unmanned spacecraft and drones.
– Recently, the phenomenon of unauthorized drones across military locations and the facilities of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina was observed. Many other countries in the world they invest much more than our country in the Defense resort do not have an adequate response for this problem. The Republic of Turkey has provided us with assistance in solving this problem by donating this antidron system. The system uses the latest technologies for detecting and neutralization of drones, which enables effective protection of objects from possible attacks or unauthorized prelides, said Helez.
