An energy facility in the southern Ukrainian Black Sea region of Odesa was damaged in a Russian attack, the power company DTEK announced on Tuesday.
– The damage is great. Repairs will take a long time until the equipment is back in working order – DTEK announced via the Telegram messaging application.
Regional Governor Oleh Kiper previously stated that some settlements in the region were partially left without electricity.
– During the night, the enemy launched another cynical attack on the energy infrastructure of the Odesa region – Kiper wrote on Telegram.
Kiper stated that critical infrastructure facilities are running on generators and that work is underway to restore electricity supply.
Since October, Moscow has intensified attacks on Ukraine’s power grid and other energy infrastructure, leaving millions without electricity and heating in sub-zero temperatures.
The city of Odessa and the surrounding region are frequent targets of attacks.
