The reason is President Pavel’s refusal to appoint the honorary president of the Motorists party, Filip Turek, as Minister of the Environment.
Pavel explained that the reason for this was Turek’s controversial statements, which he said were not compatible with the role of a minister in a democracy.
He also publicly accused the Minister of Foreign Affairs, from Turek’s party, Petar Macinko of attempts at blackmail.
– I came from Brno with several friends because we believe that honesty and fair relations are the most important things in life, but equally in politics and society. And that is why we support our president who promotes such democratic values and who condemns anomalies in society, said Jiri Bucek, a protester from Brno.
