Director of the Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs (FUZIP), Ivana Prvulović, together with inspectors from the Federal Urban-Ecological, Federal Water, Federal Mining, Thermal and Electric Power and Federal Market Inspectorates, held a meeting with the Federal Minister of Environment and Tourism Nasiha Pozder and associates for the areas of environment, water and waste management.
The meeting discussed regular activities in which FUZIP and FMOIT continuously cooperate, and in particular, the measures taken to implement the Regulation on the conditions for discharging wastewater into the environment and public sewage systems and the Regulation on products that become special categories of waste after use and the criteria for calculating and paying fees, which ensure the fulfillment of specific standards for environmental protection, were analyzed, FUZIP announced.
It was established that with the coordinated engagement of FUZIP and FMOIT and intensified inspection supervision, significant progress was achieved in the application of the aforementioned regulations and harmonization of the actions of the subjects of supervision in the field of discharge of wastewater into the environment and public sewage systems, as well as in waste management.
It was emphasized that FUZIP and FMOIT will continue working together through a systemic approach to the application of regulations, which implies consistent coordination of institutions, clearly defined obligations of supervisory subjects and continuous monitoring of results, in order to ensure the fulfillment of legal obligations and further improvement of the environmental protection system in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Further joint activities were also agreed on the occasion of the determined presence of lead in the blood of residents in the municipality of Vareš and the closure of Koksara doo Lukavac and the implementation of environmental protection measures in Sisecam Soda Lukavac, according to the announcement of the Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs.
