Yesterday, 24 cadets of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina were promoted to the rank of junior inspector in the Agency for Training and Professional Training of Personnel. After the awarding of the certificate, the cadets took a solemn oath before the Deputy Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ivica Bošnjak, pledging to comply with the Constitution and laws of Bosnia and Herzegovina in their work, and to perform all the duties of a police officer conscientiously and responsibly.
It is about the XIII generation of cadets of the Border Police of BiH who completed basic police training II. level and obtained the rank of junior inspector. The training lasted six months and was realized according to the Curriculum fully aligned with the FRONTEX curriculum (CCC 2022). Through three phases – theoretical teaching with practical exercises, professional-operational training and situational teaching – a total of 17 subjects were covered. This generation achieved excellent success, confirming a high level of knowledge, skills and professional readiness.
The ceremony was attended by high political officials of all levels of government, family members and friends of the cadets, as well as lecturers, mentors and instructors who worked with them during the past six months.
The director of the Agency for Education and Professional Training of Personnel Marko Vujević, director of the Border Police of BiH Mirko Kuprešaković and Deputy Minister of Security of BiH Ivica Bošnjak addressed those present, sending congratulations and messages of support to the cadets at the beginning of their professional engagement.
Director Vujević thanked everyone who contributed to the successful realization of the education, pointing out that the cadets have a long and demanding path – from selection to obtaining the rank of junior inspector. He emphasized that serious and responsible work awaits them, which implies the legal and professional application of acquired knowledge and skills, and said that this act further strengthened the capacities of the BiH Border Police. He particularly pointed out the importance of lifelong learning and continuous professional development.
Director of the BiH Border Police, Mirko Kuprešaković, emphasized that the cadets assume the honorable and responsible obligation to protect the constitutional order, laws, borders and security of BiH. He emphasized that they are expected to be professional, impartial and responsible, but also to be ambassadors of the state through their behavior and attitude towards citizens. He recalled challenges such as illegal migration and cross-border crime and said that continuous education is the only successful response to increasingly complex security threats. He also emphasized the institution’s commitment to harmonizing regulations with European Union standards and continuing to hire new staff.
BiH Deputy Minister of Security Ivica Bošnjak pointed out the complex security challenges of today, stressing the need for a high level of professionalism, ethics and continuous improvement. He told the cadets to perform their service conscientiously, respecting the law and human rights, and pointed out that the Ministry of Security will continue to provide support to police agencies through modernization and equipment.
The teaching council of the Agency declared Miloš Bojanić the cadet of the generation, while Dženana Mujakić and Josip Badrov were praised as exemplary cadets. Bojanić spoke on behalf of the generation, thanking mentors, professors and families for their support and promising to perform his service honorably, responsibly and professionally.
The ceremony sent a strong message of support to the new junior inspectors – that they have the support of institutions, colleagues, partners and families in their future work, while their engagement contributes to strengthening the security and protection of the borders of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
