“The Americans said they are ready for a meeting, but only in America because the war and the security situation make it impossible for them to leave the USA,” state news agency Ukrinform quoted Zelenski as saying.
The Ukrainian delegation, he said, was ready to meet in Miami or Washington, but Russia rejected the proposal and proposed a meeting in Turkey or Switzerland, a proposal that the US ruled out.
“We immediately said that we are ready for a meeting next week, we are preparing for a meeting in America, Switzerland, Turkey, and even, if they are not afraid, in the Emirates,” Zelensky said.
Ultimately, he said, the organization of the next round of talks depends on the American side.
