“It is important that key logistics are maintained everywhere. And this week, the Russian army targets the railway almost every day. Today, a targeted attack was carried out in the Chernihiv region on a train that was supposed to transport passengers on the same day,” said Zelensky, mentioning the recent attacks on the railway infrastructure in the Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
“I want to thank everyone who protects Ukrainian railways and ensures the constant and smooth operation of our Ukrainian railways.”
Ukrainian Railways previously confirmed that Russian forces carried out an attack on railway infrastructure in the Chernihiv region on the night of February 7-8.
Appeal for help in air defense
Zelensky also stressed the urgent need for help from partners, especially with regard to air defense missiles.
“Air defense missiles are needed every day. Protection against Russian ballistic attacks is needed every day. Today, ballistic missiles hit the Kiev region again. No country in the world should be left alone and without help under such strikes and in such a war,” he said.
