The UNIAN agency states that he said this during a meeting with journalists, and it is assumed that he was referring to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
“We hope that one person in the European Union will not block 90 billion euros, i.e. the first tranche of that amount, and that Ukrainian soldiers will receive weapons. Otherwise, we will give the address of that person to our Armed Forces – let them call him and talk to him in their own language,” said Zelensky.
He added that Ukraine has no alternative for that money and that it is clear that one person is blocking it.
Soon after, there was a reaction from Hungary, whose Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that he would “break the Druzhba blockade by force.”
“If Ukraine does not continue oil transit, Hungary will use force to unblock the ‘Society’. There will be no agreements, no compromises. We will break the Ukrainian oil blockade by force. Hungarian oil will soon flow through the pipeline again,” said the Hungarian Prime Minister.
In February, Hungary opposed the decision for the European Union to grant a loan of 90 billion euros to Ukraine, which required the unanimous support of all member states. Due to this attitude, the EU failed to adopt even the 20th package of sanctions against Russia, prepared on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the war.
Hungary’s opposition comes ahead of parliamentary elections in that country, which are scheduled for April 12.
