“Well, look at it this way. Those clubs have a great tradition in the former Yugoslavia. A lot of people cheered for Sarajevo, not only in that city, you know that Sarajevo was the champion of Yugoslavia twice, which was not successful for anyone except Hajduk, Dinamo, Zvezda and Partizan,” answered Zekić.

“I was never interested in politics, nor was I interested in those religious beliefs. I simply look at everyone. I was in Sarajevo for a year and three months and thank God I did not feel a moment of disrespect, let alone any discomfort,” said Zekić and added:
“So at every step where I was, not only in Sarajevo but in all of Bosnia and Herzegovina, I was received in a fantastic way. And those guest appearances, which are again very specific and all, but always with great respect for me as a person and as a coach of FK Sarajevo”.
