At today’s 110th session, the Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton adopted the Decision on Amendments and Supplements to the Decision on Bases and Rates of Contributions for Compulsory Health Insurance of the ZDK, thus fulfilling the obligations from the judgment of the Constitutional Court of the Federation of BiH. The ruling refers to the health insurance of children who do not attend regular schooling, i.e. who do not go to primary or secondary school, and who do not have health insurance through their parents.
In the absence of Prime Minister Nezir Pivić, the session was chaired by Finance Minister Dženana Čišija.
The aforementioned decision was proposed by the Health Insurance Institute of the ZDK, with the aim of providing health insurance for children who are outside the regular education system, mainly children from the Roma population.
– It is about a socially vulnerable population and compliance with the decision of the Constitutional Court of FBiH. In this way, the Zenica-Doboj canton shows its commitment to respect the decisions of the Constitutional Court, so that all our residents have the right to health insurance – said Čišija, explaining that the decision is in line with the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The obligation to pay contributions for these insured persons, that is, children, is taken over by the Ministry of Labour, Social Policy and Refugees, which approved this decision.
Within the same ministry, a set of decisions was adopted in the total amount of 333,489 KM, and they refer to assistance in rehabilitation of buildings, treatment, construction, reconstruction and rehabilitation of road infrastructure in returnees’ places.
From the position of the Ministry of Veteran Affairs, several decisions were adopted in the total amount of 315,639 KM. In addition to regular assistance, decisions were also made on the rehabilitation of the Memorial in the City of Visoko in the amount of 140,000 KM and the Memorial in the Municipality of Maglaj in the amount of 80,000 KM.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry approved KM 381,113 to the Public Enterprise Forestry and Management Company of ZDK for co-financing the purchase of excavators, equipment and protective equipment for employees.
The Ministry of Health allocated 306,000 KM for the purchase of medical equipment, of which 300,000 KM was allocated to the Zenica Cantonal Hospital, while 6,000 KM was allocated to associations of citizens in the field of health that operate in the field of malignant diseases.
The students of the Faculty of Law of the University of Zenica, who won the first place in the national competition, were awarded 1,000 KM each, or a total of 4,000 KM, from the position of the Prime Minister’s Office.
According to Dženana Čišija, all decisions were adopted unanimously, and the initiative of ZDK Assembly representative Spahija Kozlić on the Draft Law on lifelong monthly compensation for deserving athletes in the Zenica-Doboj Canton received a positive opinion.
