On the occasion of the World Multiple Sclerosis, which is celebrated on 30. May, in the Hotel “Bosmal Arjaan by Rotana” in Sarajevo last night was arranged in 17. Socializing for people living with this difficult disease.
Significant jubilee is especially emphasized: 50 years of existence and work of the Association of Persons with MS of Sarajevo Canton, whose head is Gordan Muzurović.
The event was an opportunity to exchange experiences, mutual support and information about the latest therapies and knowledge about multiple sclerosis. The topic of the World Dana multiple sclerosis for the period from 2024. by 2026 is “My diagnosis of multiple sclerosis”, and the goal is to gather the community in order to share stories, raised consciousness and supported all persons affected by this disease.
The campaign under the slogan “Together we manage in MS” is focused on the importance of timely and accurate diagnosis. He emphasizes the challenges faced by a sufferers around the world, raising awareness through authentic testimonies and data. The campaign, among other things, advocates better education of health workers, progress in research and improvement of clinical practice, and nurturing communities and support systems for all living with multiple sclerosis.
The President of the Association, Gordan Muzurović, emphasized the importance of providing quality and timely therapy for people with multiple sclerosis.
-Aquiring increased impositions for immunomodulatory therapy, waiting lists and time until the beginning of treatment have been reduced. Cooperation with the KCUS neurological clinic and other health care institutions is rated extremely successful. The Association has resolved the issue of work space, thanks to the award of business premises in Bajrama Zenunija Street 6 by the Municipality of Novi Grad, which was renovated and now functional. Projects for assistance to socially vulnerable members are initiated, including the division of vouchers and packages of supplements, and better access to orthopedic aids and hygienic material – Muzurović pointed out.
Special attention is paid to inform patients and their surroundings through educational lectures, SOS telephone, publications and 10 podcasts.
Also, the association participates in the work of the Coordination Board of persons with disabilities, working to improve the social protection system, increasing cash benefits and children’s supplement, and architectural accessibility of facilities.
And on this occasion, thanks and plaques are assigned to people with multiple sclerosis, doctors, institutions, pharmacists, media, individuals who have made a significant contribution and support to the Association. The confessions received: Fata Bahtijarević, Amela Rotgiser, Indira Mehremic, Fatima Borovic, Amira Abaspahić, Mina Imamović, Amra Alibašić, Natalija Trivunčić, Mahmud Bahtijarević and Gordan Muzurović.

The disease is not the end – it is a message that filled the room filled with tears, hope and hugs. Doctors, their other family, could not hide emotions. They cried, along with those who provide not only therapy, but also understanding and support.
They wanted health to serve all those who live with this disease, giving them strength and reason for a smile.
