European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen welcomed the “good progress” made today in the peace talks on Ukraine.
Her statement followed a “good, hour-long call” in which she participated alongside Donald Trump, Volodymyr Zelensky and other European leaders.
“Good progress has been achieved, which we welcomed. Europe is ready to continue working with Ukraine and our American partners in order to consolidate this progress,” said von der Leyen.
She also emphasized a key condition for further steps: “The most important thing in this effort is to have solid security guarantees from day one.”
