Global warming, desertification, mass dies, sudden floods, landslides that have occurred in recent years, self-defense is the nature of humanity, said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the occasion of the International Environmental Day.
Erdogan points out that we have a responsibility to build a greener world, a more sustainable life and a life environment for future generations. No one can transfer this responsibility to someone else’s shoulders, nor can he avoid fulfilling his duties.
– The era we are in is the period in which the impact on the environment has reached the highest level in human history. Our natural resources are rapidly exhausted, climate change deepen their consequences, and biodiversity losses reach a point without returning. Dealing with these realities and taking action is a common responsibility not only an institution for environmental protection, but also of each individual, every institution and all humanity. As an administration, we continue with efforts to protect the environment and provide sustainable development. We support projects that protect nature and take comprehensive steps to implement green energy, recycling, zero waste and urbanization acceptable to the environment, emphasizes Erdogan.
Turkish president says that we experience natural resources as something that is entrusted to us, not as a heritage for future generations. Fulfilling the requirements of this trust is one of our most basic duties, he considers.
– We strive for the creation of the culture of life in harmony with nature to leave our children to leave a cleaner nature. I believe that during the century of Turkey, we will achieve our goal to become a country with the most suitable nature in the world and where the natural resources are used in the world’s calling to the energy efficiency, waste management, nature protection and environmentally friendly consumer habits.
