US President Donald Trump has offered another personal yardstick for judging the end of the war with Iran, saying he will know the conflict is over when he “feels it in his bones”.
Asked Friday during a phone interview on Fox Radio’s “The Brian Kilmeade Show” when he would consider the war over, Trump replied: “When I feel it, OK? I’ll feel it in my bones.”
On the other hand, just a few moments earlier in the same conversation, the president hinted that the end of the conflict might be near.
“I don’t think it will take long to finish,” Trump said.
His remarks come as the United States and Israel continue military operations against Iran, which began on February 28. Since the campaign began, Trump has sent mixed messages about how long the conflict might last.
