A total of 41 countries were listed in the letter, divided into three separate groups. The first group of ten countries, including other Afghanistan, Iran, Syria, Cuba and North Korea, would be set for a complete suspension of the visas.
In the second group, five countries – Eritrea, Haiti, Laos, Myanmar and South Sudan – would have partial suspensions that would affect tourism and student visas, as well as other immigrant visas, with some exceptions. In a third group, for a total of 26 countries, including Belarus, Pakistan and Turkmenistan, the partial suspension of US visa will be considered if their governments “do not invest the shortcomings within 60 days”, stated in the memorandum.

The Trump Directive is part of immigrant actions launched at the beginning of its second term. The State Department did not immediately answer the Reuters’ request for comment.
