“After much consideration, I have decided to resign as director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective immediately,” Kent wrote in the letter to Trump, which he also posted on social media:
“I cannot in good conscience support the current war in Iran. Iran was not an immediate threat to our country and it is clear that we started this war under pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.
