U.S. President Donald Trump arrived in Qatar where he met with Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani.
Qatar Emir said “very excited” due to a visit that could strengthen American-Qatar relations in all fields – from investment to energy and military cooperation.
He also pointed out the opportunity to “get peace in the region”.
“President Trump, I’ve known you for many years. I know you’re a man of peace,” Katari Emir said. “I know that you want to bring peace to this region … We hope that we will act wisely this time and bring peace.”
The US president said that he was looking forward to cooperation with Qatar “at the highest level” in peacebuilding efforts, Al Jazeera reports.
“I want to thank you for everything, especially in our friendship,” Trump said. “It was very loyal, wonderful friendship.”
