Members of the Taekwondo club “Poskok” from Posušje, led by coach Karla Galić, took part in the international taekwondo tournament “22nd Omega Cup” in Belgrade on Saturday.
The tournament gathered around 700 competitors from nine countries that represented 55 teams. Taekwondo club “Poskok” was represented by female cadets Mija Begić in the category up to 37 kg i Anđa Tomić in the category up to 44 kg and cadet Marko Bakula in the category up to 37 kg.
This time they performed as part of the Taekwondo Association of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, for which more than 150 competitors from the territory of the Federation performed. From Posuja fighters the most successful was Mija Begić which won with two victories with results of 2:1 and 2:0 in the rounds bronze medal for the Posuški club and the Taekwondo Federation of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. She lost the fight to enter the finals against the winner of the category with a score of 0:2 in the rounds.
Anđa and Marko also fought well, but they are already in the first round defeated by the best in their categories.
The Taekwondo Association of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina financed the registration fees for all competitors from the Federation through its development program, including the fighters from Posuška, for which the Club would like to thank.
This was their first appearance in the territory of Serbia and at this prestigious competition, where they gained great experience that will be useful in preparation for the appearance at the Championship of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The next performance of Poskoka is expected in Imotski, where a large number of athletes from Posuja will perform. it was announced from TKD Poskok Posušje.
