The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted, at the proposal of the Federal Ministry of Trade, the Decision on Amendments and Supplements to the Decision on Direct Price Control Measures of Certain Products and Services of Interest to the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which deletes the measure “determining the highest price level for pellets”.
In the explanation, it was stated that on October 24, 2025, the FBiH Government passed a decision prescribing a measure of direct control of pellet prices, after which the Federal Ministry of Trade held a series of meetings with representatives of pellet traders.
After a detailed analysis of the effects of the application of this measure, and in order to achieve common solutions in coordination with representatives of traders, it was concluded that it is not necessary to continue with the implementation of the measure limiting the highest price of pellets. According to them, the goal was to ensure the stability of the market and the availability of this energy, while protecting the interests of citizens.
With the aim of timely intervention in the market of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and prevention of speculative and irresponsible behavior of participants in the pellet supply chain, the Government of FBiH adopted amendments to the decision which, as a new measure of direct control, prescribes the obligation to submit notifications on changes in prices and margins for pellets.
This decision additionally defines the energetic wood pellet, for which business entities are obliged to submit notifications to the Federal Ministry of Trade about any change in prices and margins, expressed in the unit measure of KM per ton, and whose turnover is carried out in wholesale and retail establishments, they write Vijesti.ba
