The search for the missing hunter Ismet Halilović (1956) ended tragically after his body was found in the area of the municipality of Žepče.
As reported from GSS Zepcea missing person report was received on March 28, 2026 at 11:15 p.m. by PU Žepčewhile members of the GSS celebrated the eighth anniversary through training in winter conditions.
According to available information, the missing person was last seen on the same day at around 2:00 p.m., when he walked away in an unknown direction. Members were immediately involved in the search PS MaglajPU Žepče, PVJ Maglajhunters, Civil Protection of Maglaj Municipality, rescue teams from Maglaj, as well as the local population.
Nine rescuers from GSS Žepče were sent to the field, but during their arrival it was confirmed that the body of a missing person was found in the locality of Bijele vode, Komšić village.
After the doctor on duty from Health center Žepče ascertained the death, and the police officers carried out the investigation, members of the Žepče Security Service began the demanding action of transporting the body.
The body, with the use of a special “mariner” stretcher, was transported through extremely inaccessible wooded terrain, in the difficult conditions of night, rain, snow and low temperatures. The operation was successfully completed at 05:50, when the body was handed over to the funeral society, while the rescuers returned to the base at 06:20.
GSS Žepča points out that this action once again confirmed the importance of good coordination and cooperation of all services from the municipalities of Žepča and Maglaja.
