Štajnar covered the 121.1 km section in 2 hours, 32 minutes and 21 seconds and thus took the lead in the overall standings, which was held by a Hungarian after the first stage from Sarajevo to Mostar Marko Toth, who finished the second stage in 30th place.
A Pole finished second in Ljubuški Jakub Kaczmarek (Voster ATS Team), and was third Dutchman Lars Quaedvlieg (Universe Cycling Team).
Štajnar is on the second day of the Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina won three shirtsyellow for the best in the overall standings, blue for the best in the points standings and red for the best cyclist on the mountain section.
