After three defeats in the same number of league games and a victory over the weak Slavia, Stojanović lost the trust of the leaders of Željezničar, and especially the fans who had not seen a more ineffective and worse Želja in a long time.
Not only did Željezničar not score a single goal in three league games, but they didn’t even create many chances. In fact, Željo only appeared on the field in the matches against Posušje, Rudar and Velež.
When you add to that three games from the end of autumn in which the Blues did not score a goal, you get the data that Željezničar did not hit the opponent’s net in six games in a row, which is devastating.
As it happens in football, the price of weak games and results is the first to be paid by the coach, so if something doesn’t change drastically, it will be the same with Slaviš Stojanović, who already announced twice after the defeat that he would “sit down and talk tomorrow” and then “see what happens next”.
It is obvious that Stojanović did not bring the desired energy to Grbavica, and it can even be said that he set the team back, although it does not necessarily have to be his fault because there are certainly more factors that influenced such a bad Željezničar.
At Grbavica, they are already looking for Stojanović’s replacement, and there is speculation on the sidelines about potential successors. It is not yet known who they will choose in Željezničar, but they will have to react quickly because next week there are two new games, the first against Sloga in the Cup and then against Zrinjski in the league.
