American basketball player Kyrie Irving (33) will miss the rest of the season in order to better prepare for the next season, the Dallas Mavericks announced.
Irving in March of last year ruptured cruciate ligament.
The recovery took a long time, and the experienced playmaker was supposed to return to the field last month.
However, due to Dallas’ poor season, no need to force itso the club’s leadership decided that Irving will not step on the court this season and will focus on preparations for the next competition period.
This decision was not easy, but it is the right oneIrving said.

Irving played 128 games for Dallas, averaging 25.5 points, 5.1 assists and 4.9 rebounds per game.
In total, he played in 779 games for Dallas, Cleveland, Brooklyn and Boston and averaged 23.7 points, 5.6 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game.
Dallas currently ranks just 12th in the Western Conference with 19 wins and 35 losses.
