The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at the proposal of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications, adopted the Decision on the adoption of the Program for the expenditure of funds of the current transfer “Subsidies to public enterprises – Transfer to the Bosnia and Herzegovina Railway Public Corporation” determined by the budget of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the year 2026 to the Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications in the amount of 500,000 KM.
The purpose of the adopted program is to finance the work of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Railway Public Corporation Sarajevo (BHŽJK) under the Agreement between the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Srpska on the establishment of a joint railway public corporation as part of the transport corporation.
The amount of 500,000 KM will be distributed to settle the operating costs of BHŽJK, and the funds will be transferred in equal monthly amounts according to the issued invoices.
After the adoption of this decision, the Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications will conclude a contract with BHŽJK according to the purpose and amount of funds determined in this decision.
The Bosnia-Herzegovina Railway Public Corporation Sarajevo is obliged to use the allocated funds for their intended purpose, and to report the spent funds annually to the Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications, which is obliged to consider them and submit final reports to the Federal Ministry of Finance, which reports to the Government of the Federation of BiH in accordance with the Law on Budgets in the Federation of BiH.
The Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Federal Ministry of Finance and the Bosnia and Herzegovina Railway Public Corporation Sarajevo are responsible for the implementation of this decision, each within their jurisdiction.
The proposer explained that the reason for making this decision is the need to implement the legal provision according to which the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina finances the work of the Bosnia-Herzegovina Public Corporation Sarajevo together with the entity Republika Srpska in a ratio of 60:40, and according to the Agreement on the establishment of that corporation, it was announced by the FBiH Government Office for Public Relations, it says Acts.
