The Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH Nermin Nikšić, the Minister of Finance Toni Kraljević and the Minister of Labor and Social Policy Adnan Delić held a meeting with the Federation of the Association of the FBiH Pensioners, who were led by Region Mehić and Ivan Kožul. The meeting was also attended by the director of the Federal Institute PIO / Mio Halil Subašić.
Amendments to the Law on Pio in the final stage
Demetable commitment was confirmed to the recent definition of the Amendment to the Law on the Pension and Disability Insurance of the FBiH, so that the Government may refer to the Law in the Parliamentary Procedure. The working group will work intensively on the finalization of the amendment in the coming days, with the aim of removing the shortcomings of the existing law.
Improving the position of pensioners as a priority
The meeting was emphasized that the improvement of the life standards of the pensioners is one of the key priorities of the FBiH government. It was pointed out that, after an increase in the minimum wage at 1,000 KM, the number of employees in the FBiH increased by 2,908 compared to the same period last year.
Fiscal reforms and stability of the pension system
The reforms of the fiscal system was discussed, which will contribute to the stability of the economy and ensure the sustainability of the pension system in the long run. The FBiH government plans to adopt a set of fiscal laws to improve the business environment and further strengthen financial stability.
Synchronization of pensions and intervention measures
Regular compliance of pensions for 2025 was considered, which will be implemented after the publication of the official data of the Federal Bureau of Statistics. Until the adoption of the Amendment of the Law on Pio, the government announced the interventional financial support to pensioners during this year.
Greater separation for pensions in the budget for 2024. Year
In this year’s federal budget for pensions, 337 million KM is planned more than the previous year. Also, the Government has met the previously taken commitments, including one-time assistance to pensioners and providing additional funds for spa treatment, for the budget, two million KMs are envisaged in the budget.
Continuation of dialogue and formation of the Council of Pensioners
The finalization of the formation of the FBiH pensioner is in the final phase, and both parties agreed to continue constructive dialogue and partnership with the aim of finding sustainable solutions to improve the status of the retired population.
