The football team of Bosnia and Herzegovina will gather today in Sarajevo, where they will prepare for the upcoming World Cup play-off semi-final match against Wales.
The Dragons will host the Wales selection on March 26 in Cardiff, and on March 31 they will welcome the Italy or Northern Ireland selection at the “Bilina polje” in Zenica.
The coach Sergej Barbarez called 25 players for the upcoming matches.
– We have a very important gathering ahead of us and an opportunity to make a great success. I believe in this team and in what we are doing and I hope that on March 31st we will play the final of the barrage in front of our audience. The list includes players that we believe can meet the demands of such important matches. Compared to previous gatherings, there are two new players, Nidal Čelik and Jovo Lukić. They have recently drawn attention to themselves with their games and form. We know that we have a tough match against Wales in Cardiff, but our goal is to play bravely and proudly and try to get a positive result that would bring us one step closer to qualifying for the World Cup. I believe that this national team has the quality for great things – said Barbarez after the announcement of the list.
The national team will have its first training session today at 17:00 at the Training Center in Butmir, and the coach’s address to the media is scheduled for 11:00 NSBiH.
The team will prepare in Sarajevo until Wednesday when they travel to Cardiff.
