The men are believed to be two people who were still missing after the accident that occurred when two high-speed trains collided near Adamuz on Sunday night. The body has yet to be officially identified, which will be carried out by the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Córdoba, reports HINA.
The wreckage of the train is still being searched for more victims. Officially, 123 people are listed as injured, of which 31 are still in the hospital. Six people are in intensive care, the Andalusian emergency services informed Xu. No one’s life is in danger.
This is the first accident of high-speed trains in Spain, which have been running there since 1992.
The train on its way from Malaga to Madrid was traveling at a speed of 205 kilometers per hour when its last three carriages derailed and crossed onto the adjacent track. At that moment, another train from Madrid came from the opposite direction at a speed of 210 kilometers per hour.
The collision near Adamuz took place on a flat area, and both trains were traveling at less than the permitted 250 kilometers per hour.
