The end of the year in the Tešanj General Library was marked by summarizing the achieved results, which confirm that the goals defined by the institution’s mission have been largely realized.
During the year, the Library was visited by more than 10,000 readers, while more than 20,000 books were borrowed. The book fund has been enriched with more than 3,000 new, current titles.
More than 40 cultural programs and strong publishing activity
The Tešanj General Library organized more than 40 different cultural events, including book promotions, exhibitions, public forums, literary contests, Children’s Book Festival, prize games, educational workshops and round tables. Representatives of the Library took part in domestic and international conferences of librarians as active participants.
Through its publishing activity, the Library was the publisher of five books during the year, providing direct support to domestic creativity.
During the year, more than ten projects were applied for and successfully implemented, financially supported by the cantonal and federal ministries responsible for education and culture, as well as the Library and Publishing Foundation. The library actively participated in the celebration of all municipal and national holidays.
Exceptional cooperation with elementary schools in the Tešanj Municipality, other public institutions, and especially with the Ju Muzej Tešanj was particularly highlighted. Through the “Children’s Book Festival” project, direct contact and active involvement of more than 1,000 students was achieved.
The cultural programs of the Tešanj General Library were on average very well attended, and the audience consisted of elementary school students, high school students, adult citizens and faithful pensioners. The Library thanked everyone who provided support in any way, with the expressed hope that in the coming year it will successfully respond to the expectations of its users and the wider community.
